The Autumn has Arrived…………..
October, November and December have always remained my
favorite months. The slow change in weather from summer to winter is beautiful.
Despite being little hot in the daytime, you could experience cool breeze while traveling. All our awaited festivals
are lined up now starting from Navratri to Christmas.
Though some poets have associated autumn with
melancholy but I believe this is the time of happiness and togetherness. Those
who have gone to faraway places for work; they visit their families and
celebrate festivals together. I find this is the best time to travel,
especially for long train journeys.
There is a famous Poem on autumn by John Keats:
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss’d cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o’er-brimm’d their clammy cells.
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss’d cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o’er-brimm’d their clammy cells.
